Extension Uninstallation Log

By default, it is not possible to retrace which users uninstalled extensions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environments.

With Productivity Package's Extension Uninstallation Log it is possible for administrators to find out which user account is responsible for the uninstallation of Business Central extensions.

Setup

On the Extension Uninstallation Log Setup page one can configure the extension uninstallation log with the following settings:

Extension Uninstallation Log Setup

  • Emit Telemetry

    Specifies whether telemetry should be emitted to the Application Insights configured for the current environment.

    By default, this setting is enabled.

    Note

    Application Insights should be configured for the environment for this to work.

  • Log Uninstall Events

    Specifies whether "app uninstall" events will be logged in the Extension Uninstallation Log table of the current environment.

    By default, this setting is enabled.

    You can view the contents of the log using the Extension Uninstallation Log page.

  • Environment Scope

    Specifies for which environment types the Apportunix Productivity Package extension will log "app uninstall" events.

    The possible values are:

    • Production Environments Only
    • Production and Sandbox Environments (default)
    • Sandbox Environments Only

On the Extension Uninstallation Log page one can view the extension uninstallation log, where one can find when extensions were uninstalled and who uninstalled the extensions.

Note

Apportunix Productivity Package Admin logs uninstallation of extensions when they are uninstalled via the Extension Management/Extension Details page.

The app does not log uninstallations of extensions that are invoked via an API call to the Business Central Administration API.
